I’m waiting for an appointment to discuss it with my daughter’s allergist. She’s 10 and has developed a fear of using EpiPen after a few incidents. Lunchtime at school has become particularly stressful for her, so I’m really hoping Neffy could make things easier.
Unfortunately, it’s not available here in Canada yet either. Though, the regulatory approval process is expected to kick off by the end of 2024!
My allergist made a good point—hesitation with the EpiPen can cost precious time, and something as simple as a nasal spray could make all the difference in an emergency. It’ll be such a relief when it’s finally available here!
@linda_jsn Thanks for sharing this news! I can totally relate to your daughter’s fear. When I was 2 years old, I had a negative experience with the EpiPen that sealed my dislike for it.
TRIGGER WARNING: EpiPen InjuryMy mum was the one who administered it, but her hands were shaking, and she accidentally cut open my thigh in the middle of the restaurant.
I’m now 27, and while I’ve thankfully not needed an EpiPen since, I still feel anxious and unprepared because I’ve never been tested in that situation.
Neffy is a game-changer for me. I can’t wait for it to be available here in the UK—it’ll be such a weight off!
